Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation – DNS
DNS is a method that optimises the locomotor system, improves posture and reduces pain using the natural developmental movement patterns of a child in the first year of life. It is based on functional stabilisation of the spine and joints (the so-called ‘central cylinder’), and is applicable to all age groups, from athletes to people with chronic pain.
Foundations: The concept was developed by Prof. Pavel Kolar (Prague School of Rehabilitation), and is based on the neurophysiological principles of developmental kinesiology.
Goal: Achieving ideal trunk stabilisation (deep stabilisers — diaphragm, abdominal muscles, pelvic floor muscles) prior to movement of the extremities.
Indications: Used for spinal pain (disc herniation, scoliosis, kyphosis), sports injuries, reduced muscle tone and functional disorders.
Benefits:
– pain reduction
– improved posture and stability
– better movement control
– activation of deep musculature
– more functional and safer movement.
DNS approach is used for:
– spinal pain
– postural disorders
– sports injuries
– post-operative recovery
The method is individually tailored to each client. The emphasis is on movement quality, body control and proper breathing.
